Dear Neighbor,

Happy New Year!  Two thousand twenty-four was an exciting year for the White Rock Neighborhood Association.  As we say goodbye to 2024, the White Rock Neighborhood Association reflects on several goals we accomplished within our community.

Established in 1953, the White Rock Neighborhood Association stands as one of the oldest neighborhood associations in Dallas. Bounded by the SoPac Trail, Mockingbird Lane, and the shores of White Rock Lake, our community comprises 350 residences in The Cloisters, Shore Acres, Greencove Estates, and Maplewood.

Inform – We worked with the city of Dallas to make improvements to the neighborhood. To stay updated, please follow us on:

Connect – This past year, we appropriately balanced the board and had at least two representatives from every POD. We had record attendance at our Cones & Coneys Neighborhood Night Out in each POD and neighborhood-wide Spring Fling. We honored our first White Rock Neighbor Volunteer Award recipient. We have also strengthened our relationship with Paula Blackmon and continue to work with her office to make improvements to our neighborhood.

Serve –   After one year, the sign topper project was completed, including new street sign blades. We joined For The Love of The Lake to adopt a shoreline near The Cloisters and held monthly clean-ups. We partnered with the City of Dallas Transportation to replace old, faded, and vandalized signs and installed a new guardrail on Fisher Road. We also participated in a tree planting project with Friends of the SoPac Trail. Safety improvements on Fisher Road will remain a priority for us in 2025 along with continuing to recognize our first responders at Firehouse 55.

As we work toward a better neighborhood, we invite you to engage with us. Please consider joining or renewing your membership today and attending our first meeting of the year on February 20 at 6:30 PM at the Ridgewood-Belcher Recreation Center.

Thank you for your ongoing commitment to the White Rock community.

Your President,

Charley Redden
